Thorson

my genealogy collection

I have organized the following links into three sections one for each generation: maternal great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents.  Each link contains either a picture(s) in a jpeg format or a document in pdf format which is stored in the digital cloud that can easily be downloaded.   Also in section 3 is a family history and cookbook by my mother.  This is followed by some Norwegian tidbits.

lefse and lutefisk – our heritage

Lefse was loved by everyone.  It is very laborious to make but that did not stop our mother from hand rolling 10 pounds of potatoes with lots of flour and butter.  In later years she taught us the process.  Her homemade sweet treats of Norwegian kringla and krumkake were also plentiful during holidays.

Now lutefisk was either loved or hated.  WCCO’s – Charlie Boone & Roger Erickson captured these sentiments in their 1980 radio skit.

Lutefisk Lament

In the 1930’s Lorraine’s favorite radio program was Slim Jim, here’s a song we all enjoyed during the snowy wintertime.
